Anyone got experience of these guys?

There's a car we really like but we are in England so obviously there's risk there.
As well as googling the hell out of them (why does that sentence always sound like it's a double entendre?) I was hoping there are some Irish mners who have used them.

Thanks in advance and apologies for abusing aibu to get the most traffic. I know I am part of the problem. 😁😁

I haven't used that branch of Charles Hurst used cars, but our current cars came from the Belfast & Dundonald branches. No issues with them at all.

I wonder If you should change the heading to read Attention Irish Mumsnetters ? Or do another post in Craicnet maybe. I'm at the wrong end of the island I'm afraid.

IncompleteSenten · 30/05/2022 09:25

Oh 🤦 of course I should have. Thank you.

Lisburn is in Northern Ireland, not Ireland.

Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland…

Hi, I have bought from the Boucher Road branch before and no problems apart from the usual upselling for extras, insurance etc which you probably get with every dealership. They would be a large, very well known company here, so wouldn't have any worries about buying from them.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend. I thought people were Irish in both NI and the Republic. I can ask MN to change it if you like?

I bought my most recent car from them. All good, not issues at all.

IncompleteSenten · 30/05/2022 09:31

Oh. You meant the suggested title! 🤦.
I'm such a wazzock sometimes.

People here can choose to identify as Irish, British or both, since the Good Friday Agreement, no offence taken here!

JenniferBarkley · 30/05/2022 09:34

I have no experience but they're a very reputable company here, probably the largest for car sales new or used.

IncompleteSenten · 30/05/2022 09:35

I'm glad. Thank you.

And thanks for the responses about the company. I feel reassured!

Never used the, myself but my father did and the aftersales was always great. Generally put everything right for him.

They are a big company across NI.

How would you access aftersales if you are on the mainland.

The good Friday agreement means people on the Ireland of Ireland can identify how they want, Irish, northern Irish or British. No one should be offended. Although a fair few are Polish and other nationalities these days.

It's a Kia so we'd get the long warranty and I'm going to check with the local Kia dealership to make sure we can take it there.

My closest Charles Hurst would be Belfast boucher road, reputable company although I haven't used them myself. I would assume they charge slightly more than a private sale but then you could ask how long they guarantee the car for
