Way back when before t’internet if a friend or colleague was doing a sponsored event whether it was a marathon, bike ride or silence you’d fill in their form and when the deed was done they’d come and collect the money. Now with JustGiving that seems to be it now, you don’t find out how much was raised unless you go back and look and they don’t even have to complete the sponsored thing as the charity has your ‘sponsorship’.
I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve sponsored via these websites and the person sponsored hasn’t done the thing they were supposed to do. As far as those two people are concerned my purse is now closed.
I now approach requests as do I want to give to this cause rather than will Debbie finish the moonwalk.
