I was married, the card application in my name but ex husband was put first in the form as I was married,. I'm still in the house, I have been asked for the original divorce certificate on occasion, I can't have a card for me.. It's the most crazy.... I've been not allowed a Nectar card for 15 years

Have you tried logging it with 101?

linerforlife · 29/05/2022 06:20

Apply for a card in your maiden name or something. Can't see I would have given this too much drama to be honest. How many points are you missing out on Confused You could always shop at Tesco? Grin

Don’t be silly, are you saying Sainsbury's won’t let you open a new account in your name? Just get a new card at the till and register it, and if they reject it, although I can’t see why, raise a sex discrimination complaint to the CEO.

IcedOatLatte · 29/05/2022 06:36

So you're applied for a card or downloaded the app and when you fill in your details it won't let you join up?

I find that very hard to beleive, do you have a screenshot of what it actually says?

Oblomov22 · 29/05/2022 06:41

Have you phoned them? Nectar? Not sainsburys, but nectar. I find them quite helpful on the phone.

BarbaraofSeville · 29/05/2022 06:44

I agree that Nectar are helpful on the phone.

But I don't understand how 'the card application in my name but ex husband was put first in the form as I was married' means you can't have your own card. If the account is his, you just apply for a new one?

Or are there points sitting there that you want to use, but can't?

Treecloudtree · 29/05/2022 06:49

Did this keep you up until 3.30am or did it wake you up? I’m really intrigued!

Wouldn't you have trouble sleeping if you'd been unfairly put on the Nectar banned list? Something like that can cause untold damage 😀

Oh FFS, pick up a new card, open account. Done. What utter tosh that you haven’t been able to have one for 15 years.

MarmaladeLime · 29/05/2022 07:22

Why won't they let you have your own account? What did they actually say about it?
When did you last contact them about it? If it was 10 years ago then it might have changed by now?

Justcallmebebes · 29/05/2022 07:30

I found out I have £19 on my Coop card yesterday. Happy days Smile

TiddleyWink · 29/05/2022 07:57

A nectar card? In those 15 years you’ve probably missed out on about 23p of benefits, so I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

Oblomov22 · 29/05/2022 09:33

23p?
Not necessarily, but admittedly points are worth much less now.
I get £150+ a year, which I use for pay the Christmas shop.
