Aibu to not upload my passport details?

We're renting a cottage in the UK over the jubilee weekend. Money already paid out of my account for it. Just been sent a booking form that asks me to upload a picture of my passport. Is this usual or would I be reasonable to object? Not travelled for a while to be fair but dont remember having to ever do this in the UK and it feels like quite personal info? Thanks.

Just say you don't have one.

Is this Airbnb?
DH was creating an account with them the other night and in order to proved ID he had to take a photo of himself with the Web cam and also upload photographs of a means of identification, though hhe used driving licence rather than passport.

Could it be for this, providing ID?

Must admit we never have needed to show passports to rent anywhere in UK

Thank you both. It was to prove ID as it is a contact less entry. Still not quite sure why it is needed though - details and booking code enough surely?

AirBnB asks for your passport.

I've always been asked for ID when checking into private accommodation, more so in the last 3-4 years.

Thanks! Maybe not so weird then!
