To ask about plus sized swimwear

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2022 20:11

Looking for a one piece, size 22, that looks like you can actually swim in it, but also doesn’t look like an old lady costume. Definitely no skirt or frills. Lots of places seem to be sold out, full of strictly sunbathing sexy suits, or ££££.

Any ideas, before I end up on the nudist beaches only this summer?

Try Asos and Yours and even George at Asda. I’m the same size as you and I’ve seen a few there that are pretty nice.

Sunshineboo · 26/05/2022 20:13

have you tried asos curve, simply be or curvissa? have had good swimwear from all these

JudgeRindersMinder · 26/05/2022 20:13

Tesco usually have pretty decent “functional” swimwear, and go to a 22

SexyLittleNosferatu · 26/05/2022 20:14

In The Style have some nice ones.

Also George at Asda.

PrawnToast5 · 26/05/2022 20:16

Tu at sainsburys is my go to

Datsandcogs · 26/05/2022 20:20

Landsend, but look for discount codes first, or browse and log in but don’t complete the purchase - they might then send you a code!

Widgetwiggler · 26/05/2022 20:28

I've had quite a lot of luck on eBay. I just make sure to switch the 'new', 'item location - UK only' and 'returns accepted' filters on. Try with and without bra size.

Whiteclaw · 26/05/2022 20:29

I have one of these and it is great, M&S used to do an almost identical one.

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2022 21:40

I looked at Sainsburys but didn’t see anything I liked. Will try Tesco and Asda and other suggestions, thanks.

Asos mostly seemed to be all sexy cutouts which I am not looking for!

Oh, should have said, I can’t wear black. It makes me look as though I’ve died. This does limit quite a lot of options!

I have several of the same model (in different prints) from Simply Be. I really like them and they're good value.

Also love Primadonna if you're looking to splurge; it's £££.

Dobbysgotthesocks · 26/05/2022 21:48

Amazon!
They have a good range of both one and two pieces.
I'm a 24 and wear shorts and a T-shirt style top to swim in. Bought for £20 ish on Amazon and have stood up to alternate daily use well.

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2022 21:48

@Whiteclaw thank you for the Le Redoute link. Have found a gorgeous green polka dot one there. Hooray!

Brastop have one pieces. Also worth checking out the Bravissimo site to see if there's any on sale.

Nutsabouttopic · 26/05/2022 21:53

I got a size 22 deep blue and white with a control panel on the front in Tesco. It's very comfortable, doesn't ride up and is easy to get on and off

Gizacluethen · 26/05/2022 21:54

Matalan do good swimwear that actually covers your bum. I got a tankini set, I'm an 18. Best too look online and get it delivered.

cpjoli · 26/05/2022 21:55

Next. Had 3 from there which are lovely patterned!

bridgetreilly · 26/05/2022 22:07

Next seemed to be out of stock in my size in every one I looked at!

Decathlon would be well worth a try.

MarmiteCoriander · 26/05/2022 22:15

I was going to suggest a tankini set I got from matalan, but its black! When on- it looks like a one piece but has the beauty of getting bottoms off easily for a wee! Don't think I'll ever get a onesie again. I'm a GG cup and even without a wire, its very supportive. Here is the link- incase someone else might be interested:

Boden. I bought this one recently and it’s lovely (although it is £70): www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/halterneck-u-bar-swimsuit-black/sty-s0204-blk?cat=C1_S2_G17

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 26/05/2022 22:52

I haven't bought swimsuits but I like a lot the plus size dresses I've had from Boohoo. They seem to have a fairly good range.

The4teddybears · 26/05/2022 22:57

Bon marche. Do nice costumes in larger sizes. Worth a look

HandlebarLadyTash · 26/05/2022 22:59

I recommend leg suits, stops any gap around the bikini area

CHiSOCG · 26/05/2022 22:59

Bravissimo!
