How do you handle PGCE student dropping out (Primary)

Just a bit of a random question which isn't related to me by the way in case you're wondering. if you mentor a Primary PGCE student and they drop out, what do you say to the children and address the situation.

If it's the case that there here one day and the next their gone.

Just something like ‘Miss x won’t be coming to our class anymore.’ If children needed more then probably that they’d got a different job / were going to be working somewhere else or something. Partly depends on the age of the children.

That they were needed back in their old school. I normally say that trainee teachers are only there for a short time to develop their experience. Not that they are trainees.

Just say 'Miss x has gone to finish her training at another school now' and move on. They see staff come and go, it really doesn't need to be a big deal.

Or yes, I like 'they were needed elsewhere'.

X has had there last day, we’re super grateful for all their hard work… ok so who wants to learn about…

It's a non issue.
Miss has gone to another school

If it's the case that there here one day and the next their gone

Your sentence should read 'if it's the case that they're here one day and the next they're gone.'

I'm only saying this because I assume that you are a primary teacher, and as such, your own grammar ought to be better than it appears to be in this post.
