Scheduled for a C section next week due to low lying placenta and previous sexual assault.

AIBU to ask for your stories of section and recovery? Or any tips you have for me to prepare.

I also don't think I want to BF - any tips on preventing milk/the large painful breasts part?!

I had an emergency c sec following 3 days of labour and baby getting stuck, so very sore and swollen afterwards- the lady in the bed opposite me had her c sec after me and was discharged from hospital before I was even able to walk to the bathroom. So very different for everyone. But once I was able to move doing so little and often definitely helped.

I found dried apricots and peppermint tea really helped so have them with you in hospital, the trapped wind and constipation is horrible with the scar.

Don’t let anyone make you laugh for a few days! That hurt along with coughing and sneezing.

Ask the midwives to help anytime you need. I felt bad buzzing every time I needed them to pass me baby or put him back, but for the first two days there was no way I could safely get him on my own.

Huge granny underwear. Like huge. I got some I thought was but still ended up falling to the scar and ended up getting some that comes way past my belly button. Very attractive 😝

I was disappointed not to be able to deliver him naturally but the c section was actually a lovely experience, they talked me through everything, very calm and they took lots of photos and videos which is lovely to look back on.

I had an elective c section following a previous traumatic birth. Went in on my own. Was a lovely experience.

One piece of advice that I wish they'd told me, take your phone and give it to a nurse. I didn't have mine and once the baby was in my arms they offered to take a pic but couldn't cos I didn't have my phone.
