Sorry posting here for traffic. I've googled and can't work out whether there is any way of doing it without a passport. Anyone done it?

From what I remember, you only put your passport number if you know it. So if you don't have one, you can't put one. You should be OK.

The reason they are asking about passports is that they can take your photo from your current one , if you have one. Otherwise they will either use the current picture on your licence or ask you to provide a recent one. Good luck

It explains it all on www.gov.uk/change-address-driving-licence/apply-by-post.

Basically without a passport you can't do it online but need to do it by post.

Thank you!

From reading that link you can change your address online without a passport. You only need a passport if you're changing your photo.

Or maybe I'm reading it wrong. You can also do it by post but I think that takes longer

For change of address I Didn't need a passport but I believe proof of the new address (like utility bill or council tax bill). I do remember that as I needed a parking permit the council accepted a letter from my lawyer that I had completed as I had not had any bills yet.
Just googled it it says you need your driving licence number, national insurance number and passport number if you know them. They do an electronic check - not everyone has a passport so they can check through your national insurance I guess.
