End of tenancy

My son is in 2nd year at uni, and shares a private rental house with 2 others. They are equally responsible for the end of tenancy clean, and their deposits will be held back if anything is unsatisfactory.
One member of the household, (who hasn't spoken to the other tenants since the beginning of the tenancy) is planning on leaving early, meaning he won't be around for the clean.

How will this affect the other 2 tenants' bonds and responsibilities?

They don't want to do his cleaning for him, but neither do they want to lose their deposit because his share of the work isn't done.

He should clean his own personal space, then no one should use his space at all.

Theyll need to be responsible for cleaning the rest of it as they’ll be the last ones in the property. Unless they ask him to help with a deep clean before he goes and then keep it spotless til they leave, but is that realistic?
