(in this instance the child was Black, btw, and yes, same time frame the Met was doing just this to another Black menstruating girl child, except not with male officers)

I don't think it's ever appropriate for men to be present when any female is strip searched. Race, religion, colour, age, menstruation or anything else shouldn't even figure in the equation.

Men should never be present when a girl is being strip searched. Ever.

Race is important because if you read the article, race features in who is getting searched.

That's not what I was saying. I didn't say it was irrelevant to this story. However, regardless of a females race, there should not be a man present if she is strip searched.
The absolute racism and disparity of black women being strip searched is another, entirely relevant and wholly despicable, discussion.
