To Book A Surprise Holidays for DH for his 40th

We have a milestone wedding anniversary coming up soon, and his birthday is in Jan, I was going to push the boat out and book a luxury holiday for all of us, we arent in a position to leave the kids, not that we would want to , tbh .
Youngest is 2 though and a bit of a handful, but we dont want to stop living just because we have a little terror on our hands.

Would I be crazy to book it as a surprise? I dont think we could fly too long haul as I know this would be his idea of a nightmare .

Its either that or a big party which he probably could give or take.

Any advice or tips on what I could do.

TIA

Sure if you can afford it sounds great

Make sure he can get the time off work?

Why is it only a choice between a trip or a party? What does he actually like?

@raera we work for ourselves so it would be ok that way. I think I will have a look and put out the feelers, we wont get to do anything for our big anniversary so it would be the two rolled into one and we have been saving for something special.

@violetbunny doesnt really have hobbies, I was thinking of getting him a trip to see his favourite soccer team play , I dont know how good I would be at sourcing tickets for that, but thats an option too. We work a lot so any time we get, we spend it together either doing things with the kids or having a drink and chilling out. We dont get out often to be fair. I might look into the soccer , It would mean finding some of his friends that might go which will be harder, all married with kids also.

January’s not the easiest month for a holiday but how about the Arctic Circle? Dog sleigh ride, Reindeer to see for dc, hotel with really warm pool and chance of seeing the Northern Lights for you and dh?
