To want feet that aren't disgusting

I know this is a gross topic for loads. I don't really like it either but hoping for some wisdom.

My feet are really gross. They don't smell but the skin gets so dry and so thick very quickly. It will sometimes peel too. I am a very clean person- clean socks daily, wash my feet daily etc. I use a very strong foot file regularly but when I don't do it for 3+ days my feet look absolutely disgusting again. If I wear heels or sandals they are even worse. No one else seems to have this problem and I don't really get it- I don't have dry skin anywhere else! It's really gross and embarrassing.

Is there an easy trick to nice feet? Do I just need to file them daily or something?

I have horrid , peely feet and had toenails so hard to deal with I’d have to put them on a “to do” list alongside cleaning the oven (you get my drift). First went to a chiropodist in desperation and I’ve never looked back. Once every three months I have an appointment and come away walking on air. No sore heels, all the manky hard skin gone and no painful nails (although it’s NOT a pedicure, definitely a treatment and not pretty for a few days). Worth every penny and now a routine that keeps things manageable.

This Amazon electric foot file. Better than the scholl one.

I've tried it all chiropodist/
podiatrist pedicures- callus shaver (recommend against those) -foot file -footner is ok but doesn't last.

Do it everyday or every other day and then flexitol foot cream. Then weekly.

Foot file, flexitol......I personally find electric foot files a bit rubbish....

This is nice foot cream. once you have it under control use daily

Soak feet first then dry, file and flexitol

Use bar soap in the shower, not shower gel. I used to have hard skin on my feet ... no more! No change to routine except soap instead of gel.

PurplePill · 22/05/2022 20:21

I use the foot peeler masks, the ones that are really bad for you and you skin peals off like a snake after a few days..

i really need to see a chiropodist but far too embarrassed!! Think I ought take the plunge after reading the comments here though

Flexitol. Flexitol. Flexitol.

Did I mention Flexitol? It’s the miracle you need. Big pot on Amazon and used regularly.

Lizziekisss · 22/05/2022 20:22

Another vote for Flexitol, been keeping my tootsies soft for years.

SpeedofaSloth · 22/05/2022 20:23

Does flexitol stain your socks?

TheYearOfSmallThings · 22/05/2022 20:27

I've never found that it does, but then I'm not smearing on a thick layer - just rubbing in an amount that is absorbed quickly by my sandpaper heels.

Thank you - I will try this.

Mine are exactly the same. They are rank. I actually have really attractive looking feet until you look at the heels. I have an electric foot shaver but if I don't keep up with it every other day within a week my feet look worse than they ever had.

I also get those deep painful cracks, after reading on here in considering a podiatrist. DH has ugly feet but the bottom are silky smooth and he does nothing with them. I think its genetic as I remember my aunt complaining about how bad hers were and my granny used to regularly go to the chiropodist.

Men's feet are in better condition, on average. It's partly doe to the different footwear.

Flexitol will fix your heels, I promise.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 22/05/2022 20:40

See, no dry skin. And I bet he doesn't even have to worry about using Flexitol.

I have the same issue. A couple of years ago I put baby oil and cheap body butter on them as I drained the bath water expecting them to be super moisturised. I slipped climbing out of the bath and broke my elbow on the toilet. Do not recommend.
