I need cheering up

Just coming on Mumsnet to cheer myself up a bit, this is my first post on here.

I'm not going to go into the reasons why I'm in the position I am but basically I have struggled on my second placement on my PGCE and have been offered an an extra placement in the Autumn to be able to meet the Teacher Standards.

All I would like to know is do you know anyone who has been in a similar position as me? If I pass my next placement will I be at a disadvantage?

Teacher here - so sorry this is getting you down. I wasn't in that position but can completely understand that the teacher training year can be absolutely brutal. My advice would be to get as much feedback as you can about what you can do to meet the standards and try to see your autumn placement as a bit of a fresh start. Your autumn placement could be in a school that suits you better with really supportive colleagues and you might have a much more positive experience. Is there anything I can help you with? Any standards I can give you advice on how to achieve?

You've got this 💕

Ps I don't think you will be at a disadvantage, you are still learning and have ample time to improve and hit those standards. There are lots of jobs in teaching and you are constantly learning. This is a small blip on what could be a long, fulfilling career! You can turn this around.
