Aldi packaging rubbish - anybody else?

I'll start this by saying I LOVE Aldi, but has anyone else noticed that their packaging has become really rubbish of late?

I've bought loads of things in the last couple of months only to discover the packaging isn't sealed properly or has burst. Last week it was a packet of ham that had a hole in between the plastic cover and the tray and when I opened it, it smelt weird, so straight into the bin. This week it is chicken fillets, that have a hole in the plastic tray. I'm going to take it back this time as it cost a £5 and I now have nothing for dinner, but it is really starting to irritate me!

I can't say as I have noticed a issue but there was a thread on here a while ago that brought this up , the general consensus was it was more likely to be how the package was handled while in transit rather than poorly packed in the first place

Interesting, I'm a bit of a picky packer (heavy stuff at the bottom, veg all in one bag, frozen in another etc). I'm definitely not a bung everything in sorta shopper.

I suspect, they have switched to more environmentally friendly materials or manufacturer and it isn't as robust.

I've noticed this with bread. Their batch type loaves (which I love) always seem to split the packaging in the freezer.

Yes I’ve noticed this with some of their dairy products. Also in a pack of bottled water, one was empty (some droplets left so had obviously leaked not just an empty bottle in the first place)

I usually yell ffs Aldi atleast once, after a shop.

Yes. And it's one of the reasons I stopped shopping there. I realised that the amount of stuff I was having to chuck because the packaging was dodgy was adding up to a fair amount a week.
