That Footner is going to work!

Or is it likely that my feet will go back to having hard skin again within a couple of weeks?

Footner worked for me, but my feet peeled for a very long time… I have found a decent foot file better and keep using it regularly. There are decent ones on Amazon.

Thank you. How long did they peel for?

It only peeled the soft skin off mine. It was really gross.

I haven't tried it so can't comment. I would agree though a good footfile (Google microplane collosal foot file!) and a really good foot cream with plenty of urea (CCS cracked heel and CCS foot cream are good) will work for long term maintenance.

The best solution is to go to a podiatrist and get them to cut the hard skin off with a scalpel. Or if you’re broke like me, take the nail clippers to it before you start filing.

I used a cheaper version and it worked quite well, peeled for a good couple of weeks so you need to time it well! Once done though I've needed to keep on top of returning hard skin with one of those hard sponge things (can't remember what they are called)...it's definitely not a long term fix.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 20/05/2022 07:32

The hard skin just comes back, in my experience. Sometimes thicker.

I’d say podiatrist too really.

Wouldlovetobeinthesun · 20/05/2022 07:53

Good enough consensus for me then to not bother and use a decent foot file instead. Thanks all.

Agree, it only takes the soft skin off, the hard skin remains.

On of the best foot files I've used is the Soap and Glory one, really effective.

I found Footner a bit of a faff and hated having my feet in the plastic bootie things that they supply. DIL did hers at the same time and had a bad reaction - her feet were red and blotchy for several days afterwards. It did work but not on very dense patches of hard skin. You really need to use it in the winter when your feet aren’t on display because the peeling can carry on for about 2 weeks. So having tried it I’m sticking with my foot file and Flexitol heel balm.
