To worry about these pains

3 year old DS is currently off nursery due to having a high temp and not feeling v well. I took him to the dr as my other DC has tonsillitis, dr checked him over and has said to start antibiotics on Saturday if not better. However he also said he checked his ears, throat and tummy and nothing seemed too concerning.

However he has some strange symptoms, I did mention them to the dr but they checked him over for everything else and didn't seem to mention about this.

He was sick last night and it was a deep green colour. Since then we've not really had other sign of illness other than his high temp. But he's also been getting what I would describe as shooting pains down his arms and legs. He can't tell me because he can't talk much yet but every 10 mins or so he will cry out and at the same time grab his arm or his leg, he will then say 'hurt hurt' and then it seems to be gone as soon as it happened. Do you think these pains could just be due to having a fever? I've tried googling but literally nothing comes up!

Not a medical person at all but my DS 4 has just recovered from tonsillitis. It started with an unexplained high temperature and he was really quite unwell and complained to me his tummy and arm hurt (the arm pain was sudden when he stretched to wash hands). The first Gp said yes he is brewing something but not sure what yet, took him back 2 days later as temp still high and he was having laboured breathing and spots on tonsils had manifested themselves, so abx prescribed. The doctor said the tummy/ arm pain was likely due to swollen glands. I was quite relieved when tonsillitis was diagnosed as the fever and arm pain really alarmed me?
Ive now got it too and I’ve been sick quite a bit.
however, if you’re worried, I would go back to the GP. I nearly cancelled the 2nd appt as was worried would look bad but it turned out to be just as well. It can’t hurt to get him checked again.

The green sounds like bile if he isnt eating or drinking. I would get him back to be checked out and if you cant get him in try 111 for further advice.

Good luck and hope he gets well soon.
