You're meant to put the voucher in the allotted slot.

Like many other places, Boots have really struggled over the last couple of years and had to make a good number of redundancies, hence the reason for pharmacy closure, queues at tills. Staff are working their socks off, on top of which it's hard to get supplies in right now. If you want to add to that by using your voucher again, then yes go ahead and try it again.

Bloody hell. Chill out.

Don't know what's going on in Boots these days. Never any staff on the pharmacy over-the-counter bit, having to stand there totally ignored for 10 minutes (3 staff in the actual pharmacy) Huge queue at the tills, one poor colleague on there, buzzing constantly for help. Nobody comes. I rarely go in there anymore.
Cheaper at Superdrug anyway

No7 isn't cheaper in Superdrug is it? Seeing as they don't do it. And that's what OP is on about..

@Bananalanacake the Lewisham branch is my local branch. I tried to spend some money in there at Christmas, I was looking for some stocking fillers for DC and DH. Not one single thing could I find and I really tried.

hellcatspanglelalala · 19/05/2022 13:37

Oh jeez....all these people giving you a hard time for "stealing" when boots literally throw those vouchers at people with every purchase 😂

Handsnotwands · 19/05/2022 14:14

i haven't ever used one so consider you reusing yours as a gift from me Flowers

sweeneytoddsrazor · 19/05/2022 14:55

You may not class it as stealing because they give out vouchers all the time, but without the voucher the till will be £8 short.
I work in retail and till shortages and theft all have a negative impact on our annual bonus. The bonus isn't a lot to start off with, so although it doesn't sound like £8 is a lot, when added up with all the others who obviously think its perfectly OK to do the same it can make a difference. Of course Boots may have an entirely different bonus scheme or no bonus scheme but it isn't always as simple as they won't miss it they give out loads of vouchers.

shewasa99 · 20/05/2022 06:15

Does the voucher specify that it can only be used once?

Without the sale the till will be even shorter! She's not gonna buy a full price mascara so I'm sure Boots would rather have the mascara bought with the voucher than no sale.

Hence why they give the vouchers out, they know they can't sell all their no 7 stock at full price.

I LOVE these threads! I brought home my Qatar Airways pillow case and salt and pepper shakers because I really liked them. Their linen tablecloths in business are really useful for a huge variety of things, especially for the rest of the trip after landing to have a clean surface, I always forget how mucky the UK is compared to most places.

I can't get too het up about it, it's not like they would arrest you. And I don't have any moral issues whatsoever, whether it's an airline or Asda, don't care.

clumperoo · 20/05/2022 07:29

Its Boots. For years those no 7 vouchers were a scam. Buy two products for £15 and get a £5 discount but it was impossible to get two products close to that price. Always had to spend £20

Agree. I ask them not
To give me Vouchers as its a waste of paper.

ShirleyJackson · 20/05/2022 07:41

I could paper a house with the Boots vouchers that have languished in the bottom of my handbags over the years.

Have it on me.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 20/05/2022 07:42

The till wont be shorter without the voucher. If the mascara is £15 the till will be expecting £7 and the voucher which will be shown as the £8 which balances the till. In this case the voucher has been scanned but not left so the till cannot balance it is essentially £8 short.

This. I got a voucher that looked good a few weeks ago (£10 if I spent £20 or similar) and I fancied some nice moisturiser but I quickly worked out that I would have had to actually spend £30/40/50 to actually get any value out of it because all the stuff was on 3 for 2 as well and you'd be fool to pay full price for No 7 because it's still expensive for what it is even when combining the 3 for 2 and the £10 off voucher.

Plus most of it was out of stock so you'd struggle to find 3 suitable products anyway.

chocolatemademefat · 20/05/2022 08:51

Isn’t that stealing? Would you shoplift? But hey - crack on and push the prices up for everyone else.

Thedogshouses · 20/05/2022 09:21

Yes I would shoplift if the shop had made a mistake. If that's really what you think it is. I don't dare tell you about George Asda sending me the same parcel every week for 5 weeks and only charging me for the one I actually ordered. I the end it was annoying and I called them and asked them to stop. If they had asked for the stuff back I would have refused, it's their mistake.

Goldie2 · 20/05/2022 09:30

Eeek… I didn’t think so many people would get upset over this. In all fairness they were giving out these vouchers to anyone who purchased and there were some at the counter (I guess for anyone to take one, but that’s just my assumption - please don’t accuse me with stealing 😂)

i thought these vouchers are to encourage folks to buy more products > potentially try new ones > perhaps like something that you wouldn’t have purchased without it the voucher > come back and purchase it again as it has become part of your make up 🤷🏻‍♀️ These products costs pennies to make (yup morally wrong but if you look at the majority of beauty products the margins are huge) it’s Boots on brand so within the trail there is the manufacturer and RND and Boots… there are other products that don’t have such a huge margins as there is another company involved who is also trying to get a nice piece of the pie, hence why Boots doesn’t give vouchers out on all those brands.

@Idbemonica1

‘they didn't take the voucher off me so it's the staffs fault?’

i didn’t say it’s their fault… I don’t know where your got the idea that I’m saying that it’s their fault?! 🤨 it’s fair enough to everyone to have their opinion but please don’t become a mind reader here and tell me that I thought that it was their fault.

These threads pop up every now and again. Always a joy to read about all these people who are so outraged. Taking a pint glass home from the pub? Op was advised to hand it into the police 😂😂😂
