Helo, one of my friends is a 30 year old man dating a girl who is 20, AIBU that I think the age difference between them is too large?

Do you think it's ok for a 30 year old guy to date a 20 year old woman?
I am being unreasonable - Yes it's normal/fine
I am being reasonable - No it's not normal

Ffs he's not dating an underage teen. She is 20, I've had larger age gaps than that!

A 10 year age gap is really significant at that age.

Yes, I know. The woman is 'so mature for her age', but the gap is life experience is likely going to be major. Has your 'friend' always preferred much younger women?

My PIL married at something like 20 & 30 and were married for 60 years.

If she is still at uni I think its a bit unusual, but if she has been working for 2 or 3 years, then not so much.

My parents started going out at that age. Married at 22/32. Still married at 73/83. I think it’s fine.

They are both adults so assuming both are happy it’s nothing to do with anyone else

Sux2buthen · 18/05/2022 17:59

Doesn't really matter what anyones opinion is, they are both consenting adults and it isn't really your business.
