I have endometrioses which means for 11 days I’m in medium pain and then extreme pain for the 3-4 days and then mild pain for the Rest of the month. I work part time as I’m so I’ll and just hope when im in extreme pain it’s a day off. Occasionally I take sick days but I’ve lost 2 jobs by being off sick and work not being up to standards as I’ve come in when I’ll and made mistakes. I can’t afford to work part time But it’s the only way I can cope with my fatigue and pain. I’m not entitled to any pip as I don’t meet the requirements But how can I work if I’m constantly being sick. Or crying in pain. Work have sent me home twice but I don’t get paid then what am I supposed to do I love my job I love working but it’s becoming impossible at times

Are you getting treatment - is there anything in the pipeline medically to deal with it? You obviously cannot continue like this, but equally your employer is entitled to expect that an employee is actually going to do the work they've been hired for.

Constant time off sick, for whatever reason, means you're not doing your job unfortunately.

I really feel for you. The system isn't geared up to people who can work some of the month. Is your GP helping you?

The only thing at the moment is morphine codine and other medication to deal with it short term long term is a hysterectomy but even that might not work

Can you go private! Would that be faster?

Arcade · 18/05/2022 17:21

I could but I can’t afford to and because of my age it’s hard to get one also trying for a baby

Can you explain to your employer and if you work part time, maybe ask if they can be flexible on days worked so that if you do need to be off on a working day you could work a different day that week? Not ideal i know and maybe not workable if you have kids already and have childcare in place or job share with someone else.

Oh it's so tough isn't it :( are there any more hip and happening employers near you - a few have period leave these days which might do for the 2-3 days.

Someone has to do my job every day so flexible dosnt work as if I can’t work someone has to cover me
