The p7s at dc School are currently away to an outdoor centre until Friday. It's got me curious about the cost? i know the cost includes everything.
How much did your dc one cost?

DDs cost £800 a week (5 day week)

VeryTrying22 · 18/05/2022 14:40

Although you know you can just go on their website and see for yourself right ?

ihmlsnwidhks · 18/05/2022 14:40

Also do the staff have to take turns to go?

Or do some volunteer etc

I literally can't find any mention of cost whatsoever

Just here to follow. My primary age ds is going on an overnight trip (3 meals there) to a hostel and hours drive away and it's costing £85.

strawberrydaquiari · 18/05/2022 14:42

£360
The P7 teachers always go, usually a deputy head and a few extra.

Jarstastic · 18/05/2022 14:44

DC went to an outdoor activity centre for 4 nights. (Monday to Friday) in Y5. IIRC it cost £400. A fair few teachers accompanied them.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 18/05/2022 14:46

Our school usually sends begging emails for teachers to go on residential trips- it’s a huge ask and many have young kids of their own at home

TravellingSpoon · 18/05/2022 14:49

DD's booked to go one next summer, its in the South of France and its £870 for 8 days.

This year she went on one with Guides - £345 for 5 days.

Both PGL types.

MrsPear · 18/05/2022 14:50

I think it was £550 - that is five days at PGL. 4 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 4 dinners. Coach travel there and back. Activities all five days - in total 12 of them. They include zip line, assault course, archery, crafting a water vessel etc I personally think it is value for money.

MrsPear · 18/05/2022 14:51

Oh and our school you have the option of instalments over a year before trip.

Although you know you can just go on their website and see for yourself right ?

Generally you can't. Because different schools will select different packages/be taking different numbers/organising their own transport and costs/covering or not covering supply teacher costs back at school, etc etc.

edwinbear · 18/05/2022 15:44

DS (Y8) was £540, Mon-Fri, all food, coach there and back and all activities. DD (Y5) was £290 (Tues-Fri) again all food, travel and activities. DS is going on a CCF one over half term, which is Sat-Tues, everything included and that one is only £100. I believe they spend one of those nights sleeping under a tarpaulin in a forest though, so clearly saving on the accommodation costs!

ihmlsnwidhks · 18/05/2022 15:58

Alot more expensive then i thought! but in a lot of ways value for money. I know our school pta paid for some kids to go. Which is fantastic

I'd be anticipating somewhere around the £400 mark, but hopefully not much more than that.

nearlyspringyay · 18/05/2022 17:02

Y6 trip this year is £485 four nights, and they come back at lunch on the Friday

No you can't it's all buried!

nancy75 · 18/05/2022 17:10

Dds was about £400 when she was in year 6, she’s doing A levels now so I expect it will have gone up quite a bit since then

JanglyBeads · 18/05/2022 17:16

I think many schools would give up to 50% discount to Pupil Premium students, ie any who've received free school meals after KS1 in the last 6 years

Tree543 · 18/05/2022 17:18

DS's year6 trip this year costs £330. 4 nights PGL with abseiling etc and two day trips to a zoo and a Sea Life centre. Seems good value looking at the other prices.

spanieleyes · 18/05/2022 17:47

Ours are going for 3 days/2 nights and camping at PGL to keep costs down, even so it is £180 as we are having to go this term rather than our usual autumn term slot. Teachers volunteer, the yr 6 teachers get first choice and then anyone else who wants to go!

lioncitygirl · 18/05/2022 17:52

£500 y3 PGL. 4 nights.

MojoJojo71 · 18/05/2022 17:57

£360 for 5 nights with activities, travel and food included

Oizys · 18/05/2022 18:01

£360 for 5 days at an activity centre, food travel and that includes spending money. Prob cost more like £400-450 tho because needed to buy sleeping bag and walking shoes etc

MajorCarolDanvers · 18/05/2022 18:02

£400 all inclusive.
