Hi typing quick and posting for traffic sorry.
Whilst I’ve been away with our newborn in NICU. DP thought it’d be a good idea to clean the top of the oven where the hobs are and clean it with Cif. He didn’t take off the black rings whilst doing this. It’s clear it wasn’t a ‘deep clean’ as he keeps saying. He simply used a cloth and sprayed the spray into the cloth to wipe it down.
Now when I’ve come home. I’ve used the ignition and pressed down on the hob I wanted to use and the flame was massive and made a strange noise so I took my finger off the ignition button. I tried it again. I then asked him what he did to the cooker and he said he cleaned it. I got him to wipe it down with water and tried again on a different hob. The same thing happened.
Can someone tell me how to actually fix this safely? Is it just a case of washing the black rings in warm water? To add, when I’ve tried to turn a hob on, it seems as if the flame had expanded as if he’d used a flammable product to clean the oven as it’s not just lighting on the hob. No clue if any of this makes sense as my head is jumbled but pls can someone help
