Currently a SAHM, not through choice but because it makes more sense for childcare. I have a toddler in 15hours free childcare and 3 more children who are Autistic - I need to be here when they leave for school and here when they return. One child has a slight bit of school refusal as he isn’t liking his SEMH secondary and sometimes refuses school. One of my girls have a bowel condition and when that’s playing up she needs time off. My husband works full time.

Im thinking of doing sex chat, probably when kids in bed and while little one at nursery, anyone got any experience?

little bit worried of going self employed and the effect on my universal credit.

Find another way. You cant come back from this and it could be something you regret. Find another way x

ButtockUp · 16/05/2022 17:53

What does your husband think about this?

What if you're recognised?

I think this is potentially very damaging for your whole family.

ButtockUp · 16/05/2022 17:54

And yes, I knew someone who got outed.

RollOnWinter · 16/05/2022 17:54

Would you really want to listen - and talk dirty to - sleazy men whilst they masturbate? How about a part-time evening job? Cleaning, care work, bar work?

I was a SAHM for many years and did a couple of little cleaning jobs in the evening.

How would the op be recognised?

Nimo12 · 16/05/2022 17:56

I'd say don't do it from experience. I did it for a few months years ago and it just made me hate men. It was poor money even back then and you had to do at least one night. It's a horrible job.

VeryTrying22 · 16/05/2022 17:58

If your DH is ok with it and you are comfortable with the type of work then go for it.

although prepare to be told YABU from the usual kink shamers on here

Lankyboxmum · 16/05/2022 18:01

@RollOnWinter I was thinking about cleaning too, I think I’m just worried about having to tell UC and then getting no customers. At least there’s definitely work in sex chat.

im not worried about being outed- I’m pretty open minded and everyone I know.

Unless you can time travel then it'll be only fans you're doing.

AlternativePerspective · 16/05/2022 18:01

I’ve considered it in my darkest hours when I realise that nobody is ever going to employ me and I can’t see any way of ever being able to earn a living again.

But in all honesty, I A, couldn’t actually bring myself to do it, and B, even if I could, I don’t think I could keep a straight face telling some sleaze over the phone that I’m now taking off my thong and am naked covering myself in whipped cream or whatever they say on these lines.

I remember reading an article once about women who work on these lines, they were all middle aged and would sit at home talking dirty while doing their knitting or whatever.

SpaceJamtart · 16/05/2022 18:02

Its not great money, but you can be a bit creative with it and the range of what is asked for can be interesting. For some people they essentially want someone to read out erotica in an 'into it' kind of voice and some just want verbal encoragement and noises.
I would maybe worry about the kids waking up from the nap or coming in and hearing though

Lankyboxmum · 16/05/2022 18:05

@MayorDusty not OnlyFans, although I would if I had the body! It’s telephone chat

I wouldn’t be so sure. I was on indeed a couple of years and a job came up for a telephone adviser working on a line “where people can call in, and just talk about their day, their friends and family, their aspirations.” [Hmm]

The job paid £30 an hour and the line cost £60 an hour to call.

I think we all know what kind of people would pay that kind of money to call someone on a phone line, and I’m not sure talking about their day would come into it.

Roastonsun8 · 16/05/2022 18:11

I think you need to think of something else OP you have 4 kids so based upon this I don't think it's ideal long term.

You have a DH.. what about an evening jib a couple of times a week? Weekend work?

Lankyboxmum · 16/05/2022 18:20

@Roastonsun8 he doesn’t have a set rota it changes each week, sometimes it’s breakfast shift, sometimes it’s late shift. He hardly ever has weekends off and I don’t have family for childcare.
Also the kids would struggle if he done bedtimes because that would be a change of routine

Can your DH request fixed days at all?

I thought telephone sex chat went out with the ark? Confused

Surely it's all webcams now?

YouHaveYourFathersBreasts · 16/05/2022 18:28

You’ll make fuck all money, I really wouldn’t bother. Massive sympathies to you and I hope you find a better solution.

zaffa · 16/05/2022 18:32

Have you looked into it salary wise etc OP? Is it definitely self employed?
If you are ok with it, and so is your husband, I really don't see why it should be regarded any differently than other jobs.
I think it would really depend how much it would pay, and if you could earn a decent amount of money doing it.

If you can do it at the same time as getting your housework done it might work. A bit of grunting as you mop the floor will probably enhance the caller's experience.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 16/05/2022 18:36

Don't most men just phone Samaritans if they want a wank? It's free.

I actually included this in my post then deleted it in case people thought I was joking - I'm not! I think a headset could really allow multi tasking on this one!

LanaGardner · 16/05/2022 18:43

It's crap money, it will mess you up in the head, you will get paedophiles ringing up wanting you to role-play their daughters and you won't want to ever have sex with your husband again.

That is not something I considered. I assume you can simply disconnect / decline those sorts of calls?
