Any idea what this piece of music is? (

Hi all, posting for traffic to ask if anyone could help me identify the piece played at the very start of this documentary please? Documentary link:

Piece starts around 27 seconds in and fades out around 53 seconds-ish. Unfortunately the sound’s quite faint, but hopefully still clear enough to hear the tune.

Sounds a bit like Mozart (or maybe Beethoven?) to me, but can’t recognise it from any of the pieces I’ve heard by them before.

Very grateful if anyone could help please.

Thank you!

I can't hear it very well, but I think it might be Beethoven. I only really caught two distinct chords.

GrouchyKiwi · 16/05/2022 15:35

I thought it might be Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart), but it is very hard to hear.

It’s not. I know it but can’t think what it is. Bear with……..

You need to skip to the end credits - where it's played again but much clearer.

Still struggling to identify it, though.

There's a music composer in the credits - could it be a peice he wrote specifically for the documentary?

That's helpful. It's definitely not Eine Kleine. I don't recognise it, but I don't think it's Beethoven either.

CousinKrispy · 16/05/2022 15:47
from the name in the credits?
Butteryflakycrust83 · 16/05/2022 15:47

Can you shazam it?

Treecreature · 16/05/2022 15:48

the googles say movement no. 8 by M. B Weltz

CousinKrispy · 16/05/2022 15:49

it's got a chord progression very similar to the fast part of the Overture to the Magic Flute (different rhythm obvs) but I wonder if it's all by this film composer, Andrew Huggett.

It’s not the same piece of music in the end credits.

There’s clapping over it.

Unless I'm getting mixed up I really think it is - both at the start and the end credits, the piece ends with distinct loud notes, each with a pause between them. It's there for both pieces...

It's Movement No.8 - M.B Weltz
