Friend always complaining about DH

First of all, I’m very aware that my friend may well feel, on balance, that it’s preferable to stay married to this useless-excuse-of-a-husband/father for whatever reason, and that’s nobody’s business but her own.

However, AIBU for thinking this is how the patriarchy reproduces itself? Woman constantly expresses her frustration and resentment about how her DH treats her. Queue all her friends sending 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈 emojis. “Oh my DH is just the same… he does x, y, z disrespectful things 🤭🤣🙄🤣🤣…” “aren’t men so adorable and quaint in how useless and selfish they are - men just don’t get it 🤣🤣🙈”.

Everyone drops the conversation, leaving the impression that DH’s behaviour is totally normal, acceptable and funny, and DW was making a hilarious joke, rather than expressing her legitimate hurt and disappointment.

The whole thing makes me nauseous. AIBU?

YANBU

It absolutely enrages me when people say: “Men!”. As if it was biologically ordained that having a Y chromosome makes you lazy or insensitive or a cheat. It’s not men being men, it’s shit behaviour from an individual man which that man needs to be called on.

I have a work colleague whose husband is an abusive drunk. She has come to the point of divorce on dozens of occasions and each time, after they make up, she will go: “Men! What can you do?”

Well you can leave them.

Nope... I got that so many times with ex (abusive fuck) all men are like that, that's men for you. Albeit yes, from his mother.
A lot of friends would respond with oh mine does A, B, C - So is this a competition on who has the shitest partner?
Never, ever again.
Now I'll say that's not right he either does X, Y, Z or show him to the door.
We all need to gang together, men and women, and stand up for ourselves! Show the unworthy ones we won't tolerate their shit.
