Friend trying to sabotage?

Sabotage is a strong word - but I wasn’t sure how else to word it. However she is very competitive.

We look kind of similar and she’s recently had her hair done and gone a few shades darker (looks nice and suits her) and we met up yesterday with mutual friends and we all said how much we like it.

Later on I showed a picture of the hair colour I’d like to go far and it’s quite a blonde/grey colour and everyone said how amazing it would look - apart from friend who instantly said I suit dark.

She’s done things like this before, like I had my nails done and she just said “eww they look short” or laughed at some clothes I had.

Shes much prettier and slimmer than me but I feel like she would hate for me to ever look better. Aibu to think this?

She is not your friend.

She really isn't your friend. I've had a friend like this, she undermined me to make herself feel better. I dropped her eventually.

Mention some tattoos you are getting...
And await...

Thanks everyone. I don’t expect fake compliments or be told I suit something if I don’t. Just like I said I feel like it’s a constant competition that I don’t even bother to compete in?

She's horrible.

Good friends don't say 'Ewww' when you show them your manicure, or laugh at your clothes. She's massively insecure and a nasty piece of work.

She is not your friend. Stop spending time with her.

You have forgotten your manners OP.
When someone claims to be your "friend" but treats you like this, good etiquette demands that you return the compliment in kind, & stop seeing that person.

"Fuck off you nasty little twat" ought to do it.
She'll never bother you again.
