Direct Line have just told me that they cannot add a temporary driver to my car insurance. It 'doesn't meet their criteria'
A member of my family lives overseas and visits every few years. I've been adding them to my car insurances for over two decades. Both are adults, clean licences, held for over ten years, no accidents in last ten plus years.
The call handler was very sorry but computer says no. At first said 'unable to divulge ' any reason then admitted he didn't have any information on why this has changed. No suggestions for what I can do.
I'm about to start researching but hope the MN hive mind can help and possibly find a alternative without needing new insurance.
