Doing the age old annoying thing of asking MN sorry!

I've been absolutely wiped out for about 4 days now, absolutely exhausted and have been going to bed with my DC at their bed time at 7:30, still feeling shattered the next day. Told DH I thought there was something up.

Anyway, two days ago started feeling a bit of a lump when I was swallowing, like I had a marble in the back of my throat.

Today I've woken up and one of my glands on my neck is swollen (only on the right side) and I feel like I have a golf ball in my mouth. All that side of my neck and under my jaw feels so tender and swallowing is really difficult.

Checked and though my tonsils don't seem massively swollen, there are white spots on the one side it feels sore.

This is where I don't know if I'm unreasonable, I had a really bad case of cellulitis (albeit not in this area) not long ago and it started slowly, thought it was just a minor issue, actually saw the GP about it the day before, and then all of sudden it changed and I was admitted to hospital really poorly, swollen and on IV antibiotics for days with it. I was so unwell but it came on so suddenly it really freaked me out (I felt really drunk by the time I got to A&E and was admitted to a bed within an hour which for A&E these days was impressive!).

Anyway so I do get a bit freaked out now at any sign of infection after that and am worried because it seems to have swollen more really quickly, under my jaw and all down my neck has come on a lot today and it feels so, so tender.

Should I wait or go to the out of hours today?

I would go to out of hours with that history

As it’s near your wind pipe I think you should try to get seen tonight.

Talk to 111. They will take a history and advise you. It is always a weekend when these things happen isn't it.

Yes! It was a Saturday when the cellulitis hit as well! Typical.

Yeah 111 and they might refer you to out of hours which might speed along how quickly you’re seen

Another vote for 111.
