To carry on as normal if I have a cold?

I can’t see anything in the guidance which suggests otherwise. I don’t have a temperature or feel too unwell for usual activities.

What do you mean? Covid guidance? As long as it’s not covid I think carry on as normal BUT having said that, I think people are a lot less forgiving about people being ill in public now. I don’t think I’d go into the office with a cold now, whereas I would have done before.

HelloKittyGirl · 14/05/2022 06:53

Yes, Covid guidance. Do I even need to test?

Sheesh can't you decide for yourself whether or not you feel well?

If you feel unwell, take a rest, if you feel alright then carry on.

SpudsIluv · 14/05/2022 06:55

Of course you need to test, it could be covid, very similar symptoms!

Dizzywizz · 14/05/2022 06:59

Yes, definitely test…

Squillerman · 14/05/2022 07:00

Legally you’re not required to test so it’s just whether you feel you should, morally. There’s a charge for tests now so most people won’t have money going spare to waste on a test, especially if it really is just a cold or hayfever even at this time of year. Of course YANBU to carry on as normal with a cold.

LisaSimpson77 · 14/05/2022 07:02

I'd do a test I think. It depends though, are you going to busy indoor places or mixing with vulnerable people or pregnant women? If so, I'd definitely test. If you're basically pottering about not doing loads and working from home then carry on.
Maybe wear a mask in public so you don't cough and splutter over people.

coffeecupsandfairylights · 14/05/2022 07:04

Of course you don't need to test.

Tanfastic · 14/05/2022 07:11

You don't need to test if you don't want to. If your work's policy is in line with this just go with it.

I'm currently positive but in my case and the people in our chain who've also got it (family members) it didn't present at first as a cold and none of us tested positive until day two or three of symptoms hence the reason I caught it from someone who'd tested negative!

I feel fucking horrendous though and feel terrible that I've given it to dh who is also feeling fucking horrendous.

HelloKittyGirl · 14/05/2022 07:30

Thanks. I’m not working currently but have school runs and need to drop off and pick up from a birthday party today.

Crack on as normal as long as you can, unless you live in North Korea?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 14/05/2022 07:33

You don't need to test. I won't be testing even if I have symptoms. Just do what you want.

ZenNudist · 14/05/2022 07:38

Of course, what else are you supposed to do?

Crazylazydayz · 14/05/2022 07:42

Just wear a mask and wash hands regularly to avoid infecting anyone else.

Just carry on then in that case. I only test because I have to for work but I've been too I'll to go out anyway.

Tanfastic · 14/05/2022 07:56

Ill to go out anyway.
