I work in a team of 5 we are all the same level. Today at work I was busy working when one of my colleagues who thinks he's above everyone collects all the dirty cups and brings them over to me and tells me after I have finished doing what I am doing to take the dirty cups upstairs to be washed because he is just so busy with his work and doesn't have time (but had time to collect them all 🙄)
AIBU to tell him to stick them where the sun don't shine? 🤣

I’d assume bossy and misogynistic because I bet he wouldn’t have said that to another bloke!

Blarting · 11/05/2022 19:21

Do none of your colleagues have the ability to take their own cups upstairs? Bloody cheek!

Travis1 · 11/05/2022 19:21

Definitely not. I’d have laughed in his face

BettyForgety · 11/05/2022 19:22

I hope you said no

SomersetONeil · 11/05/2022 19:23

OK, so, what did you say to him?

Namechangeplease · 11/05/2022 19:25

He sounds like a total CF 🙄🙄 How would he take it if you said - politely but firmly - you were also busy with your work?

PowerfulWombSpaceRespector · 11/05/2022 19:38

Are you the only woman? Does he think you'll be using your ovaries to wash them up?

ChazzaGirl · 11/05/2022 19:38

I’d have put the cups back on his desk and told him to never speak like that to me again. The CF.

You would definitely not BU!

Georgeskitchen · 11/05/2022 19:43

The cups would be up his arse sideways if he had said that to me!!

Hawkins001 · 11/05/2022 19:48

Is their a rota for who does what ?

This. He collected the cups, he can wash the cups. You are all at the same level and there is absolutely no reason why cup washing is your sole responsibility.

Brefugee · 11/05/2022 19:52

haha - i would have laughed. And if he'd left them on my desk i would have put them on his.
And then i would have shared this with the whole office, and my boss.

Did he ask or tell you ?

ancientgran · 11/05/2022 20:45

I had a manager, many years ago, who decided all the women in the office would go on a rota to do the cleaning and they wouldn't need to pay a cleaner. She handed me the rota and I started to laugh, she asked why I was laughing and I said it would be wonderful evidence for the tribunal when they saw the rota with every woman on it and no men. She snatched it off me and it was never mentioned again.

GirlCrushxxx · 11/05/2022 20:47

Is there a rota?
