Regretting selling on Vinted as have no clue what I'm doing.

It's easy they said.

You should sell all your stuff on Vinted they said.

I'm an intelligent woman who has sold on eBay and marketplace but I cannot get my head around Vinted.

I've listed a load of things no problem but I only wanted to have a postage option where the postage labels are printed for me. I'm finding it all confusing and overwhelming.

Would I BU to bag the whole lot up and run to the charity shop with it and delete my account?

I've read the info guides but can't get to grips with it. I just want this to be straight forward.

Am I alone in this?

You don't need to do anything c once something sells the buyer chooses how they want it delivered , you print the label from your messages and when they have got it you ask for your money to be moved to your bank account!

Sleepyquest · 11/05/2022 10:18

It takes a while to get used to all the quirks. You can specify which parcel carrier you want to use

I don't have a printer so I thought I'd set my preferences to just doing royal mail and now it's saying to print a label

Do you have a print shop nearby? One near me will let you print out an A4 sheet in black and white for 25p

Tangfastic91 · 11/05/2022 11:06

You can set your delivery preferences to 'custom' then enter the price for what you know it will cost you at the post office. Rather than using royal mail as a carrier.

LetsGoDoDoDo · 11/05/2022 11:11

I'm having a similar experience OP so no, you're not alone! Baffled! 😅

superram · 11/05/2022 11:13

You can set your settings, I won’t use Royal Mail as a seller as you have to queue or a buyer as too expensive. Have you no access to a printer at all? If you select other carriers they can print the label.

LovelyLovelyWarmCoffee · 11/05/2022 12:00

If you go to account / postage you can uncheck the courriers that need you to print a label.
So for ex keep Royal Mail only.
I suggest also keeping Yodel direct as the way it works is they send you a bar code thay will be scanned at the drop off point and they print the label there.

Amymamabear89 · 11/05/2022 12:01

If you go to the postage bit and select custom postage you basically put your own amount in and it’s Royal Mail only x

TedMullins · 11/05/2022 12:02

You don’t need a printer. If you Google where the nearest yodel or UPS drop off points are near your there is likely to be one in a newsagent. When you print the label it will generate a PDF with a bar code or a QR code, just have this on your phone and take it to the shop, they’ll scan it from your phone screen and print the label in the shop. You can also disable delivery methods you don’t want to use in your account settings.

Mymindisnotmyown · 11/05/2022 12:06

To be honest I think having your own printer makes it alot easier cause then you can sell via Evri/Hermes which a lot of people select.

I disabled Royal Mail as the small parcel option is not big enough.

pompomseverywhere · 11/05/2022 22:01

Thanks everyone I'm sure I can manage it but it's bloody overwhelming

I couldn't figure it out too. I gave up and will be giving the stuff away.

MyneighbourisTotoro · 11/05/2022 22:48

Can’t you just do custom postage and take it to the post office?

Lapwingslore · 11/05/2022 22:58

Don't want to hijack your thread, but you are not alone.

in the last 24 hours I have had someone change her mind after making an offer I accepted, had issues with the postage options when trying to list and have just had a listing taken down as inauthentic !!

I have no idea why a pair of brand new Converse, bought from Office and photographed with the box from every angle, count as Inauthentic and can’t get a response when I ask.

Have been selling on Ebay for years and have never once had any of these issues.

Totally baffling.

Yodel is the easiest - you get a barcode the shop can scan and it prints a label.

Royal Mail and Hermes need a printer - Hermes do a print in store option where they send you a QR code which you can scan to print but Vinted don't seem to use it.

I deleted it for similar reasons, felt like too much hassle in the end.
