Posting for traffic because I’m stuck for ideas

DS turns 8 next week. He’s big into forts and dens so we’re planning to get him a tent he can use inside and outside in the summer.

Looking for inspiration from any of you lovely creative mumsnetters for things we can put inside - got string lights, character cushions, glowsticks, blankets so far. Grandparents getting him nerf guns to defend the territory 😂

Please help - what would you add?

Have you got a carpet shop nearby? Ask them if you can have some of the cardboard centres from the rolls of flooring. You might need to hacksaw them shorter, depending on transport and space, but they're pretty robust, can be decorated to look like wood, or beams, or bricks or whatever he likes, and make defenses, battlements, cannons etc.
Those big pegs/clamps for beach towels (to hold them to sunbeds) for attaching blankets - try Home Bargains type shops.
Net curtain and tye dye stuff for camouflage maybe?
So much fun 😁

Aluminium mug (they can be personalised), torch / headtorch, sleeping bag?

Adventure/spy stuff so he can keep watch for people approaching - binoculars, notepad, pen, walkie talkies

Snack box,my DD loves making a den and the first thing she does is sneak in a couple of fruit shoots and snacks along with a torch so she can have a 'secret midnight picnic' in the middle of the afternoon.

Some thick cardboard and string so he can make a 'Keep out' sign.

They do huge pegs, for blankets to make improvements to a fort old school
