Can't find a nursery space!!

My DD turns 3 in June I have been looking for a nursery place for her in September and there's nothing. We don't have many nurserys near us, and this is made harder by the fact that I can't drive, now I am really panicking. I am acutely aware that she only has 1 year until she starts school, I cannot afford to pay for more than the funded hours - I think I should be eligible for the 30 hours funding but my hours are unpredictable and while I usually do work more than 16 hours I sometimes have to do less. Not that it even matters if I can't get a place for her. Has anyone not sent their child to nursery and they have been ok when starting school? My DD was only 6 months old when lockdown happened and she is very shy and doesn't like being away from me, but she is also very bright and developmentally she will be ready for school, I'm just so worried about her social development. I don't know what to do if I can't find a space for her.

Contact your local authority early years team

What about something like a childminder? Put yourself down on waiting lists, as spaces will come up. Dont fret!
