Anyone in the AA for breakdown cover? Can you look at your membership number for me.

Quick question and posting here for traffic.

I'm a member and notice that the first 3 digits of my membership number on my registration appears to be the same as my DOB. (So it becomes a type of ID.)

(I know it's encoded on driving licenses by shifting the order of the numbers around.)

I just want to know if yours is the same or I'm drawing a conclusion that doesn't exist.

They must have several members with the same DoB, so it would be a very poor form of ID.

How would that work for someone born on Christmas day, you'd need six digits. From that alone you can see why you're wrong.

I've just checked our old ones (dc has them in his wallet) & nope, not so for us.
