To ask for a reference

I've been doing a volunteer role for approx 5 months, although I trained in october/November so I suppose 6/7 months at a push.

I've been offered a dream job and need a reference. Would I BU to ask the volunteer manager for this role for one? It feels really cheeky this soon but didn't know if that is my anxiety talking or not!

Absolutely not. This is fine and normal to ask for

Should add that prior to this role I had an extended period at home due to a disabled DC so I haven't got anything else that is more recent than 5 years.

That's fine

Speak to them, I'm sure they'll be delighted for you and would be happy to give you a reference. Congratulations on getting the job 😀

My son did some volunteer work before he started a full time job a few years ago and they were happy to provide a reference for him.
