To call 111?

Hilites · 07/05/2022 17:00

I will of course call 111 if mumsnet decide I am not being dramatic.
one friend has told me I’m being OTT and to just take paracetamol and rest

found out I’m 2-3 weeks pregnant (not sure if this is linked and its not good news for us unfortunately so please no congratulations)

the last 3 days I have been suffering with severe belly cramps and migraine ( no bleeding ) I was taking pain relief and getting on with it. I was experiencing dizziness, head heavy ect during this too. Today I woke up with a migraine again it seems to of subsided but now I am suffering from severe neck ache, I can barely move my neck!! Don’t think I’ve slept funny this was mild yesterday but now it’s really stiff. The feeling of nausea has gone I only have a slight headache not much dizziness just the sore neck. Cramps have subsided too. I also feel like my face doesn’t look well if that makes sense? And really bad sweats!! Stupidly googled it and one gave me ectopic and the other meningitis!! 😳 obviously don’t want to waste nhs time if I am just being paranoid!

Call 111, could be ectopic.

AmbushedByCake · 07/05/2022 17:02

If you have signs of an ectopic you definitely need to get checked out ASAP. Good luck.

Daffodilsdance · 07/05/2022 17:02

Phone 111 , that is what they are there for . Sending hugs .

girlmom21 · 07/05/2022 17:02

I'd call but be conscious of the fact they probably won't scan you on a weekend.

I hope you're ok x

KangarooKenny · 07/05/2022 17:03

Yep, you need to phone.

BaaMoon · 07/05/2022 17:03

Phone 111. Let them decide

Hilites · 07/05/2022 17:04

Thanks everyone. I will call now, I was under the assumption even if it was ectopic they don’t do anything unless your bleeding!

Can you touch your chin to your chest? Are you light sensitive? If you can't and you are, I'd ring 999. If you can and you're not, I'd ring 111. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

VariationsonaTheme · 07/05/2022 17:12

If it’s ectopic they absolutely treat it, even with no bleeding, it can be life threatening.

Triffid1 · 07/05/2022 17:20

This is EXACTLY what 111 is for.... when you aren't sure and want a trained person to give you advice. Personally, I might be tempted to go straight to A&E but 111 is a good first option.

Waiting for a clinician to call me back
the lady I spoke to didn’t seem too concerned.

I work for 111 and tbh, in your case I’d ring back, say the pain is getting worse. Did you mention the possibility of an Etopic? I’d have the call handler speak to a clinician about you while putting you on hold. Alternatively I’d just go and present at your nearest full A&E.

Hilites · 07/05/2022 18:19

I did mention ectopic and she put me on hold then carried on with the questionnaire and said someone will call me back in 2 hours

Re the rest glad you rang 111, hope all ok

Hilites · 07/05/2022 22:11

Still not even had a call from clinician shock. Can’t just take myself a&e as I have 2 little ones. Will get some rest and get checked over in morning

Have you done a covid test as these were all my symptoms when positive

Hilites · 08/05/2022 13:57

@Bednobsbroomsticks yes all negative I’ve been testing since Wednesday. 111 never even rung me back awful service imo. Feel better today
