Job mistake

AIBU to think I've made a big mistake changing job?

Same profession, different unit. I moved because it has halved my commute, now have children and was fed up working with huge personalities and the politics of working in a much bigger hospital but I'm struggling to adapt to the slower pace and the patient group.

How long do I give it before deciding on wether it's right for me or not? I'm considering just working as and when and choosing my own shifts. If I was to leave my new job I wouldn't want to take on another permanent contract incase I changed my mind again. I was considering abandoning the profession altogether before my maternity leave so perhaps it isn't for me anymore and I won't be happy anywhere. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Should also add, it's only been a few weeks so still settling in I suppose.

I would give it a minimum of three months. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to acclimate.

Depends on why you hate it.

I have had two jobs where I knew within a month I’d have to leave.

the rest took some settling in but I didn’t feel like I’d made a bad decision.

The staff are lovely 😬 it's the patient group/pace.
