Cervical check? Should I still go?

Sorry TMI! I have been peri menopausal for about a year or so and have had no periods. I have been prescribed patches without seeing anyone face to face. We’ll look and behold I started spotting this afternoon. So typical as I be been waiting a few months to have a smear.
So I don’t mind but should I go ahead? I’m afraid if I phone I’ll have to reschedule and have to take another day off work. There is already cover in place for me tomorrow so should I attend and just hope for the best or do you think the nurse would mind. I’m supposed to get a blood test done as well and I don’t want that delayed too.
So what should I do, I just want to get it done at this stage!

Blood cells on your sample will be make it difficult to read the test, so might be better to reschedule.
if you have a blood test too, can you ask while they are doing that? They might be ok if it’s very light spotting?

At my practice they ask you to postpone, but if you are having blood tests as well I would go and have them. The nurse should be able to book you in again for smear whilst you are there.
