To Hope todays the day Boris gets his comeuppance

I've never being particularly political, am very much a floating voter but I am so frequently utterly appalled by the Conservatives that I really hope they get absolutely thrashed today.
I do realise that local elections are different to general and so it won't happen but I can live in hope.

With you on that but I’m not holding my breath, people continuously vote for the tories for a number of reasons, such as their local government being ok, protecting their money (my mum is one of these, terrified of losing money when she’s dead 🙄), don’t trust other parties etc.

Personally the tories are the absolute last option for me so I hope there are some good results from today!

I would love this to happen, but we live in a country where people vote like they are supporting a football team and have some bizarre loyalty to a party that doesn't give a damn about them, so not holding my breath. I expect there will be some protest votes as there was in my area in the 2018 local elections in my area (think it was then). We are in a Tory area, and we ended up with lots of independent votes with no overall control as people were pissed off about Brexit. I live in a tourist area too and I think locals were fed up of our councillors making the town nice for tourists, but shit for residents.
