Shift cancelled with no notice

Zero hour contract, night shift as a carer

Checked the rota at 7pm before heading to bed. Got up and went to work.

Turned up to find my shift has been cancelled/removed from the app.

Home again, no shift, no one to contact until the morning.

Do I have any rights on a 0 hour contract for having no notice or not being informed my shift was cancelled?

YABU- no rights, nothing I can do

YANBU- should've had some notice or at least been notified at all. They've broken some employment law.

It doesnt seem reasonable. But it all depends on what your contract of employment says about this. IMHO. As regards to this.

Contract will tell you- there is a 2 hr policy in (most) but not all places, whereby if they cancel with less than two hours notice they have to pay you X number of hours. If this isn't in yours, then there isn't anything to do- but I agree it's very frustrating and limiting possibly being cancelled at the last minute.
