We would be 4 adults, us and DC 21 and 18.
Has anyone done a Fjords cruise?

I haven’t done one yet but we’ve booked for next year with P&O. We looked at Fred Olsen as it would have been convenient to sail from
Liverpool, but it was almost twice as much & the boat didn’t look as good for families (but our kids are young).

Lots of videos on YouTube of serial cruisers, I’ve only really watched P&O ones but imagine they’re all represented.

We have done it with P&O and loved it. Although we didn't expect it to snow in July!

With the ages of you all any of the cruise ships (minis Fred Olsen) will be fine. If you want more fun ships look at royal carribean ships.

We did the Hurtigruten mail boat trip a few years ago and loved it but I doubt it would suit a family, there are only very short stops and little on board but the scenary was amazing. The boat went as far North as possible, further North than the cruise boats, seeing a road sign for Murmansk about 60 km seemed odd. I would thoroughly recommend it for adults.

We’re going on Cunard queen Victoria in the summer. Not done that cruise before but we love the ship. Us two plus DS22 and DS14.

We went with P&O on Britannia and absolutely loved it! We went with P&O because of the kids clubs/night nursery but as a pp said with teens you would probably have a good time on most cruise lines. Whichever ship you choose, a balcony is a must have to make the most of the views.

Thank you all for these tips!

Taking my boys 11 to 16 on a Royal Carribean cruise to Norway this summer.

I've done it on Princess and Celebrity - what in particular would you like to know OP?

In the meantime there's an excellent article here: www.cruisecritic.co.uk/articles.cfm?ID=1576

We've been three times with P & O and booked again for next year. The ones where they cruise down fjords during the evening / night are great. Fantastic food & entertainment. You don't have to get dressed up if you don't want to but we love it.

If you do choose P & O (and they're a completely separate company to the ferries) I'd really recommend eating in one of the posh 'extra' restaurants. For about £25 per person you can experience very fine dining - Marco Pierre White, Atul Kutcher, top end afternoon tea.

Happy for you to PM me if you like. ☺️

Yes, we did a P&O one (Ventura) and loved it.
As PP said, the cruise company has nothing to do with P&O ferries so don't worry about the negative associations.

DD, her partner and his parents are on a Celebrity cruise to the fjords at this very moment, OP! They are having a great time - gourmet food, first class lounge, drinks package, and lots of excursions. They were glacier walking today.

We're booked for next Easter on the P & O Iona - there's some really good deals on P&O at the min as people aren't booking because of the ferries. People think they are the same company !
