HR interview

I have an interview for a HR position tomorrow. WIBU of me to ask you to throw some possible interview questions at me?

My children have had sickness bugs all weekend and I've not prepared as much as I should :(

What was the most difficult HR issue you've faced, and how did you resolve it?

Tell me about a time you have managed conflicting priorities from stakeholders and what the outcome was

How do you think you should support line managers?

How do you ensure your HR knowledge is up to date outside of work?

And

Can you tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision when the information you had was unclear. What was your rationale for that decision?

They will probably ask you something technical - if you don't know the answer, say you would refer to the appropriate policy, ACAS etc.

They may ask you about;
Customer services
Team working
Dealing with a difficult client
Diversity.

Why do you want to work in HR?

Don't say because you love people. HR is not necessarily about loving people.

What are the challenges that HR professionals face today?
(A lovely generic question that asks you to skim across recent legislation changes and 'hot potato' issues)
