To think DP could earn more

Me and DP have been together for 6 years, and we've always earned roughly the same salary and have always shared everything evenly as far as bills, expenses, etc. We work in the same industry and are at the same level. A while ago I moved into a new job with slightly different but related work, and now earning £20k a year more (£60k). I'm really enjoying the role, the workplace is great, low stress and mostly remote. He hates his current job but says he's struggling to find anything paying much more than he's on now - he's been looking for over a year for something paying around £45k. Aibu for being a bit disappointed/annoyed at him for not looking for something paying more? He's really great at what he does, is well known and liked, has won awards, has a huge social media following, all that stuff. He could easily find a job paying double that. Those jobs are out there too. I think he's nervous he's not good enough, despite my encouragement.

What does he want to do as a job/career? I don’t see how it’s up to you.
maybe he doesn’t want the stress that comes with higher paid roles

If he can't find a job paying 45 k how is he going to find a job paying double that ?
