in 2017 I went to the doc and refused a check and it just went away
it’s always bright red or pink
my blood tests are all fine

SOunds like piles, but you should speak to your GP

gamerchick · 30/04/2022 18:27

You refused a check or the GP did?

Tbh if you have a sore bum alongside it, o would say you have a few splits that keep reopening and to try and avoid constipation if you can.

Babyroobs · 30/04/2022 18:28

It sounds very much like bleeding hemorrhoids especially if you are getting constipated. You should get a check up with your Gp for peace of mind though as it could be something more serious.

Sillysausagesally · 30/04/2022 18:29

I refused it
i have really bad health anxiety but iv out off facing this

Perhaps use a stool soften like lactulose when you are prone to constipation and maybe a laxative too to prevent straining.

It could be a number of things (most of them aren’t scary) but recurrent and persistent rectal bleeding should always be checked by a doctor. Please get it checked Flowers

Sillysausagesally · 30/04/2022 18:29

Is there anything I can try for hemoroids to see if it stops ?

Could be fissures. If the blood is red it’s fresh and wet and from somewhere close to the opening so it’s likely to be piles or fissures. Dried blood would be more of a concern.

OP, It sounds like piles.

Why don't you adopt a veggie/fish diet for a few weeks, lots of wholemeal bread, veggies, fruit, fish, water. Avoid eggs and stodgy refined carbs. Your digestive system should be softer and looser, and the symptoms may disappear.

If they do, try to make some of the changes permanent. If they don't, go back to the GP.

It’s mostly lifestyle changes, increase fibre in your diet, drink more water, don’t strain when you do a poo, use stool softeners if you need to, exercise helps to improve bowel habit. There are some ointments, suppositories and sprays that help to reduce the symptoms of piles (itchiness, aching, pain and can reduce swelling) but they won’t get rid of the problem completely.

Fissures are little cuts or splits in the skin of your anus. They are usually caused by constipation and/or passing very large stool. The skin can’t stretch far enough and splits. The skin can’t heal easily as every time you go to the toilet, they open up again (and bleed).

That’s a good idea I am obese and spend a lot of time sitting down for work and just read that’s a cause too! Thank you all you have made me feel a bit better. I’ll try that and if it doesn’t stop I’ll go to the doctor.
it’s def not dried blood always bright red or pink sometimes
