To think the Police should deal with murderers

with a great reveal like they do in TV shows ...

I am currently binge watching Death in Paradise and am loving .. I mean LOVING .. the whole gather all the suspects together in the place of the crime and explain who the murderer is and why it must be them. The murderer then politely confesses, they are arrested and all is resolved.

I think, and this is highly controversial, that I might like it more than Jessica Fletchers trap the murderer by luring them back to the scene of the crime to dispose of some evidence they never even left!

So AIBU to think that that is how detectives should deal with charging people? A nice gathering, lay out the case and then haha it was you Dave. Obviously it requires the criminal to politely confess at the end, but ... pah minor details!!!

What you're describing is something called a "prosecution". Usually takes place in a grand dramatic theatre called a "crown court"

We just need to persuade all murderers to be as polite as those in the Agatha Christie books.

I’m sure most detectives would love to be able to do that!
