really annoyed!! shop messed up

So last night i went to the shop and i put down my gas and electric card on the counter and asked for £20 on each.

Now i have £40 on electric and no gas. i could scream. Called the shop but unfortunately nothing they can do as you cant take the £20 back. Im so frustrated right now! I didnt know in the shop because shes put £20 on twice so i did get 2 receipts. UGHHHH

Can your energy provider swap the credit over for you?
i know they can apply emergency credit in addition to what you normally get

Oh that's so frustrating! I can't offer any helpful advice apart from is there a main number you can contact for help and explain the situation? (Sorry I don't have cards for gas and electric so wouldn't know much!)

Can you go in and ask to speak to the manager? Maybe they'll put some money on as a goodwill gesture?

I am with EON and if you have the app or your account online you can transfer the credit between the meters. I did this last year when I got the warm home discount

I can see how it happened but that doesn't make it any less frustrating!

The shop won't be able to refund from a card like that but I suspect the electric company will be able to move the money about if you call and explain?
