Is this an early miscarriage?

Really hope I am being unreasonable with this.

Have been ttc for 6 months with no luck. I'm at high risk of ectopics.

Over past two days I've been spotting - period is due in 5 days now. I always get light spotting before my period begins for 5-7 days.

Today I've had a clot. I never get clots in the run up to the period beginning.

Is this likely to be an early miscarriage/ectopic? I understand no one has a crystal ball and I don't want to ring doctors as I'm not knowingly pregnant anyway. The clot has just concerned me and worried me that this could be miscarriage/ectopic.

For my chemical, there was no clotting. Just my regular period albeit a bit heavier. Clotting can just be random. Have you even tested if you're pregnant?

Five days before your period there’d be no way of knowing if it’s ectopic – that’s if you’ve even tested positive. Have you tested? Signs of ectopic are more like watery brown discharge, not clots.

in my experience of chemical miscarriage, you test positive but your period arrives on its usual day or one day later – you don’t pass anything early.

it’s easy when TTC to spot symptoms as “never having happened before”: it’s usually just that you’re paying more attention. A clot is probably just a clot: random. And you’re ascribing meaning to it because you’re symptom spotting.

take a test nearer your period due date.

What did it look like? Was it jellyish (could be implantation) or a proper blood clot?

Have you had a positive test? 5 days before AF was due would be a chemical if you were pregnant and then started bleeding.
With my chemicals I tested positive and then within a week or so just came on my period (late). No clots or anything. Negative test afterwards.
