For love or money

Have you seen it? I was incensed watching it. Silly silly women falling for this. And their poor families.

I'm off work today so watching it. Apparently one thought Gerard Butler was messaging her!

Not just women. There's a man on there.

I've not heard of it but it's riled me straight away as it's "for love nor money".

Will take my pedantic self off now

Gerard Butler, fucking hell. Some people are so stupid.

I will not watch it for this reason!

🤣

I've had enough now. Just had to watch the Gerard Butler one though. Priceless!

BBC1 10:00 Monday to Friday.

The naivety & egos of these women beggars belief. Their mental health needs help, poor ladies.
One woman was 88 & got scammed by a much much younger man (imposter) out of innumerable £thousands & thousands.
Sometimes it goes on for months, they sell their cars & houses to feed tons of cash to their vile imposter “boyfriends.”
Today’s programme included a mature man who flew all the way to the USA to hook up with a young woman who left him waiting hours and hours at the airport. She never turned up of course & he flew home 2 days later. He was sending her iTunes cards which she was selling. It was madness.
Its very very sad how grieving & lonely people get caught up like this. The psychologist outlined why their brains allow it to happen.
The BBC need to put this programme up for peak viewing because they’ve done series’ like this before but the message needs a broader audience.

It is also on iPlayer, I am watching an older one where one woman was scammed not just once but twice for well over £250 000 in total. She was utterly convinced these men loved her, she was absolutely targeted the second time as she had proved such a soft touch after the first. Part of me thinks she was absolutely daft, but then another part can get a sense of how easily she was reeled in. 250k though, that is absolute crazy money to send to people you have never even met.

That's so very sad. How lonely must a person be to fall for this?

I'm a bit late to the party. I've seen a couple of episodes this week. It's very sad when the penny finally drops and you see the hurt on their faces. But honestly, they must realise those young fit men with 'multi million inheritances' that they want to share with Barbara from Birmingham are too good to be true?

Off to catch up with the rest of the series!
