Selling second hand electrical items privately online

I've researched online & all the info seems to be geared towards businesses. Died anyone know the law on selling privately, eg on Ebay, Facebook etc. I upgraded my sky yesterday & now have an old box & router. I know they're safe, but knowing my luck something would happen once it's sold & could a very expensive claim be made against me? I could get it pat tested, but then what's the point in selling it? I hate waste, but it could go to the recycling centre. I'm trying to declutter so I just want it gone really. What are your experiences? I'm always dubious about buying anything electrical second hand so is it worth the bother for what I'll get for it

You can sell on gumtree or eBay fine. Just make sure you describe it accurately- lots of second hand electric items on eBay etc
