I have never been into YouTubers but I came across these two and I think they’re such a force of positivity and humour. Their real names
are Shane and Hannah and they make videos about life in an inter-abled relationship (Shane has spinal muscular atrophy). The trolling they get is quite horrific but their responses are so brilliant and they seem to have such a laugh together. Has anyone else come across them?

I find these two very inspiring, yes! I often watch their videos. They seem very happy together ☺️

I've been watching them for a long time. They're fab.

Absolutely love them. So funny and deal with arseholes and trolls so well.

ChickenGotLegs · 26/04/2022 00:50

I came across them recently, they are a good laugh and clearly a great match for each other

The cynic in me suspects he was probably already quite successful (IIRC she approached him remotely having seen him online in a talk or similar) with the appeal of being able to near immediately turn the relationship into a money making exercise. I suppose it is educational though for anyone contemplating interabled dating

I don’t think this is the case. Apparently she saw him on a YouTube document series about people who suffer with chronic illnesses, not made by him. He was a writer at the time but only on a very small scale and they were pretty broke for the first part of their relationship. They made a video about it quite recently.

I like them too, they seem like a really nice couple. Hannah is incredibly beautiful and both of them are funny and seem kind.

Trolling is always wrong. I personally don’t like Shane and Hannah at all, I could write a long essay but won’t. I don’t find the laughter genuine a lot of the time or a little out of place. I’ve found a few things he’s said about how he views other disabled people a bit offensive too, as if he is above the rest of us (before someone suggests it no I’m not jealous, I’m disabled but quite happy with my own life).

Margot78 · 26/04/2022 07:45

It’s awful isn’t it how so many of us naturally feel suspicious of a beautiful woman with a disabled man.

Agreed but in this case, his previous girlfriends/partners have looked suspiciously like Hannah and I think she capitalised on that. Maybe then they did fall in love.

icelolly12 · 26/04/2022 08:02

No can't stand them. Hate his "jokes" that aren't at all funny or her fake laughing at everything he does or says. They make me cringe.

Coldnoseandtoes · 26/04/2022 08:14

Their videos have come up on my YouTube home page a few times, so I've seen a little of their videos. I couldn't really take to them, I didn't find them very genuine. It's not the usual sort of stuff I'd watch, so not all that interesting to me.

Sparklingbrook · 26/04/2022 08:20

I think they started off ok but lately it's all a bit try hard. Some of the videos are a bit click bait in title, and they overshare quite a bit.
I do believe they genuinely love each other.

Innocenta · 26/04/2022 08:43

YABU, because the illness and disability section of YouTube is creepy, emotionally manipulative of viewers, and has overall had a really negative impact on people with disabilities.

Also, disabled people aren't inspiration porn.
