Interview this week

Hi all,
Name changed for this, long term MN user.
(I posted in the Work section but it didn’t get any responses so thought I would share on AIBU. I have turned voting off)

I have an interview later this week for an assistant manager of a care home. I have been a carer in many settings (hospital, private homes and nursing homes) for over 10 years so I feel confident I know about the practical aspects of delivering the expected standard of care, however this is my first interview for a management position. How can I demonstrate my management skills if I have not had prior experience? I can talk about orientating new staff, helping with certain tasks for my current team leader etc but I am really unsure if I can really demonstrate my ability to lead a small team of carers. What questions should I expect to be asked? If any (care home ) managers or assistant managers are able to give me any insight on how I could show I could do the duties outlined for this role it would be much appreciated (standard care home manager expectations, I do not want to link the job description in case one of the interviewers in a MNetter!) . I have looked over all of the relevant information regarding the legislation and codes of conduct, I am just worried about the scenario based questions as I haven’t had management experience.
Thank you in advance!

I have been involved in recruitment for a range of health and social care staff over the years, though not for care homes specifically. Have a look at the Manager section on the Skills for Care website - might be helpful.
